"prAna," a 5000-year-old Sanskrit word for breath, life, and vitality of the spirit, is the inspiration behind the stylish, eco-friendly clothing brand. Founded in a home garage in 1992, prAna was innovative and sustainable from the start, shipping clothing to customers in surplus fruit boxes and building hangtangs out of ground newspapers. Their forward designs and dedication to quality attracted the best climbers and yogis around.
Since their humble beginnings, prAna has flourished as it chased its passions for yoga, climbing, health, conservationism, and positive change. They push forward, making a difference with each strand of recycled polyester, each ball of fair trade cotton. prAna also partners with several local and international charities throughout the year to help make a positive difference any way they can. During the holiday season, they give back by donating a portion of the proceeds from a select collection of items to Outdoor Outreach, a non-profit organization that connects undeserved youth to the outdoors.
Making a positive impact on the world we live in for the present and future sits close to heart with prAna. They are inspired by the people they serve—athletes, artists, and you.

No crumbling, no slipping! I use my mat 7x/wk, power yoga. No need for rat pads for spine, knees, elbows - offers sufficient cushion w/o loss of stability in balance postures. Can connect with this color Plum. Pretty grain-like pattern. Smells good new. Not ready to spend $100 - Prana guided me to this mat. No more $10 mats for me! Prana stands behind their product, got it @ sale price, couldn't do better.

I chose Prana because they stand behind their product! If you call, they'll help you choose an appropriate mat. I've been chewing up mats so fast, had to hunt for better quality, use mine seven classes per week. My practice is a mix including power/ashtanga un-heated. Slippage? I think not. Good grip! The Plum color is lovely, dark enough to disguise light soil and a color I can connect with. Some reviews say there is a new smell - well darn, mine seems to have a light scent of rasberry! Air it out if you wish, or use an essential oil mix. It has a pretty wood grain-like pattern. It is heavier than my $10 mats. I don't expect this to crumble like my other mats. If I have any problem or dissatisfaction, I will call Prana & they will assist, replace, or refund. My mat is 78" long. I'm tall, long hair, long legs, works for me. It fits easily in my mat bag. I rated a "4" because I haven't used it long enough to say "5". What a bargain price on this quality mat here @ yoga outlet. Happy.
