In honor of the summer solstice, we're teaming up with ToeSox and yogi, Robin Martin, to bring you a five day yoga challenge. Get to know our yoga teacher, Robin Martin, and join us for the summer solstice five day yoga challenge on Monday, June 27.
Robin's yoga journey began in May of 2000 when she took her first yoga class. A friend had been urging her to try yoga for years, but she resisted because of her active lifestyle and skepticism of the benefits of yoga versus her gym routine. That first class changed her perception of yoga and she found herself seeking more. Robin found incorporating breath with body movement allowed her to let go of the stresses of daily life. She learned how to apply the simple beauty she found on the mat to her life off of the mat.
Robin's practice and teaching are ever evolving. While vinyasa yoga is her favorite style of yoga to both practice and teach, she has studied many different methods of yoga with numerous master teachers and appreciates the beauty in all styles. She earned her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification through YogaMedicine, led by Tiffany Cruikshank. She's in the process of working towards her 500 hour certification with YogaMedicine.
In addition to traditional yoga styles, Robin is an avid AcroYoga practitioner and teacher and has been studying under Lux Sternstein of SeattleAcro for over five years. She is a certified Stand Up Paddleboard yoga teacher through PaddleBoard Bliss. You can find her sharing her passion teaching regular yoga and AcroYoga classes in the Seattle area, as well as workshops and retreats nationally and internationally.
