Directions

First, mix 500g of the triple butter soap base with about 1/4 of the jar of coconut oil and heat them together in the microwave until the mixture is melted. Once the white soap base is completely melted through, stir and pour into your soap mold.

Note: You can use a milk carton instead of a mold by simply cutting off one of the sides and clogging the spout.

Set the white soap aside to let it set, and begin working on the black mixture.

Take a couple tablespoons of your ground coffee and mix it in a microwave safe bowl with 200g of the argan oil. Add a couple drops of the black food coloring (we did three) to make the contrast of the two soaps more noticeable. Heat the black soap base in the microwave until melted through and stir.

Grab your soap mold. By this point, your white soap has had time to set, so there should be a bit of a film. Pour the black soap base in to one side of the mold.

Use your chopstick (or toothpick) to mix the black and white soaps together, making designs. The idea is to create a marbled affect, so make sure you're not completely over mixing the two colors together.

Set the mold aside and allow the soap to set. This will take a few hours (we let ours sit for four hours).

Once the soap has solidified, you can easily pop it out of the mold. If you were using a milk carton, simply cut the carton off. Grab a cutting board and cut the block of soap in to individual sticks using a sharp knife.

That's all there is to it-- handmade gifts for the win!

Wrap your soap sticks in something pretty and send them on their way to that special someone on your list.
