I wanted to like this mat. It was my first time spending more than $15 on a yoga mat so I was expecting it to be great. The color, quality and texture are beautiful, but the texture also makes it very slippery. I could not do a downward dog on this mat without sliding forward. I am bummed out and am returning.

I like the mat, I was just hoping for more grip. However, for a yin/restore class, it’s totally great. It’s lightweight, which is awesome. Just don’t get it for a flow/hot class without a grippy towel.

I actually now use this to line my closet floor. I almost faceplanted out of a down dog because my hands slipped out from underneath me.

As a yoga instructor, I use my mat every day. My previous e.c.o mat lasted 4 years, and was still usable; it just had some worn spots. The grip on these mats is better than regular sticky mats, so that if you need or want to wear socks (which I often do), you still feel secure. Also, they are reasonably priced and are thicker than the normal mat -- which is good for those of us who appreciate some additional padding!
