These pants are soft, comfortable and cool. In addition to the bottom opening to the knee, there is another slit above the knee. The pants also dry quickly, I wore them on a hike in Hawaii to the beach. After getting fairly wet from putting them over a wet bathing suit,I hiked back in then and they dried quickly.
